Sessions for PROFESSIONAL ACTORS

Sessions for PROFESSIONAL ACTORS are offered to give professionally-trained and experienced actors the opportunity to keep tuned in when not working, to run through audition pieces, work on specific acting problems they have encountered and continue to develop their range and abilities as expressive artists. They are led by acting coach Giles Foreman, and the technique draws on the work of Strasberg, Meisner, Uta Hagen and Stella Adler.

The GFCA offers Professional Actor weekend INTENSIVE ACTING workshops expressly for professionally-trained and experienced actors, who are invited to join Giles Foreman at the Centre in London for an acting workout – ideal for those who want to keep their acting muscles flexed, develop their skills, work through audition material and prepare roles etc.

Committing to a block of classes can be difficult for the actor given the unpredictable nature of the business, and as Giles is frequently away casting and coaching on feature films, these workshops are ideal as they can be booked individually.

Professional Actor weekends are offered monthly, 10 – 6pm. Please see Dates and Special Events for dates on offer.

A single workshop is £190*; after acceptance, we ask you if possible, to book in by 5 pm on Tuesday of that week, in order to manage numbers. Please note that when Giles is away due to filming or masterclass commitments, we offer a range of other weekend workshops. *Booking for 2 or more in advance will allow us to offer a substantial discount.
Outside the class structure, Giles and other acting coaches may be booked for 1-1 coaching, for auditions, self-tapes and character-development – please enquire, for further information.

In order to apply to join the scheme, actors must first send their Spotlight link. Email Registration

ACTING FOR PROFESSIONALS – PAY AS YOU GO

When offered, weekly PAY AS YOU GO sessions for Professionals take place on Wednesday evenings 6pm-10pm.  NB currently, this is replaced by the monthly Intensive Workshops – see above!

Professionally-trained / experienced actors are invited to join Giles Foreman at the Centre in London for an acting workout – ideal for those who want to keep their acting muscles flexed, develop their skills, work through audition material and prepare roles etc.

Committing to a block of classes can be difficult for the actor given the unpredictable nature of the business.

The session costs £38, and we ask you to book in and pay by the day before ie Tuesday 5 pm, in order that we can manage numbers (you may still ask after that point, in case there is room). We recommend that you aim to come as regularly as possible in order to get the maximum benefit.

To qualify for special Members discounts, sign up for a 5 or 10-session block – and if you have to pause classes while fulfilling a professional acting contract, provide details and we can put the block on hold.
Please note that on those occasions when Giles is away due to filming or masterclass commitments, the class may be taken by a substitute moderator.

The work mainly deals with realistic acting processes. It encourages actors to push their limits, increase their capacity to use themselves and open up, to enhance their creative abilities in rehearsal through exploring impulses, to develop complex and layered characters, to rigorously dissect text and to come to rehearsal or set thoroughly prepared. The class tends to be a mixture of exercises and scene work. Everyone contributes to feedback and the general atmosphere is one of serious fun. As we all know acting can be a terribly frustrating and isolated profession – so what better than a weekly workout! Many projects tend to be created out of these classes, plus exclusive performance opportunities – and participation in Industry Evenings, offered at discounted rates.

Entrance to the class is subject to interview, with CV or Spotlight link.

Outside these session-times, Giles or another GFCA acting-coach may be available for 1-1 coaching/self-tape/audition preparation. Please enquire.
